I purchased the dryer to use when I travel overseas. Finally took on a trip a couple of weeks ago. Worked great the first time I used. The second time I used it worked about halfway through a hair drying session (2 minutes)….then it just died for no reason. What a waste of money.

I waited anxiously for this product and once received I was happy with the travel bag and the gift size hair product. The CHI products are crazy expensive and I really am starting to prefer Biosilk. But anyway.. I LOVE the dryer. I have short hair and the dryer dries my hair in less than five minutes. Once done, my hair is soft and shiny. PERFECTION. Now the flat iron… I used it once and haven’t since. How can something be too small and big at the same time? The small comes in when trying to get good handle on the iron and too big with the iron plates. For short hair, its too wide to grasp the back pieces.
For what I spent, I’m ok with it. I do love that dryer but is it worth the price.. eehhh…

The CHI travel set I purchased for my daughter as a gift included a hairdryer, flat iron, and sample hair styling products neatly packaged in a durable, hangable, travel case. She serves in the US Army, and in theory, this was the perfect solution for hair care ease during deployments. The two voltage option feature for overseas travel made this gift ideal. The mini flat iron and hair care samples worked well like I would have expected. However, the CHI mini dryer nearly shocked and burned my daughter seconds after turning it on for the first time. Although it was set to the correct voltage setting, it soon made a loud sound, became burning hot, emitted a strong burning odor, and generated visable smoke. This product received great reviews, but for us, it was “armed and dangerous.” How did it ever pass the safety inspection?

Well I got this for my girlfriend as a surprise present. She tried out the blow dryer and at first was amazed at how hard the dryer blew and how hot it was. She wasnt used to that with the normal conventional ones with different settings. But now its been a few months and she uses it at home as her default dryer. The flat iron on the other hand she used maybe once. She has a full sized Chi and its much faster and efficient for doing her hair. It takes a very long time to get warm and then takes a long time to do the hair because its so small. But its still better than other flat irons. Would give 5 stars, but its just too slow.

THE FLAT IRON HURTS YOUR HANDS CAUSE ITS GOT GROOVES IN THE HANDLE NOT TO MENTION IT GETS EXTREMELY HOT!!! WILL BURN YOUR FINGERS. THE BLOWDRYER I HAD MESSED UP WITHIN 2MONTHS OF USE!!! NOT GOOD COMBO!
